SHIN’S SHINE CONTINUES INTO FINAL DAY
South Korea’s Jenny Shin continues to dominate as she seeks what would be her first win in over 10 years and her second LPGA title in 368 attempts.
Despite a more nervous start to play today, Shin’s 5-shot lead remains strong and she will face Pajaree Anannarukarn and LPGA rookie Erika Hara in tomorrow’s action after the Thai golf star hit three birdies to end the day on 69(-3).
Speaking after her round, Shin said: “This is the best ball-striking I’ve ever had coming into The Scottish Open. I felt that during the practice round, as well, I was a lot less fearful over the ball compared to other years.
“So that has really helped my confidence. Confidence does wonders.”
On the Scottish experience, the Korean added: Very grateful. Very happy to come back to Scotland every year. It’s a really good opportunity to prep ourselves for the British Open, and I really love coming over here.”
Despite a bogey-free day for second-place Anannarukarn, the day was not without its difficulties and said after finishing her round: “It was a challenging day, and also, at the same time I kind of had good fun battling with the wind and everything going on. It was a great day.”
Japan’s Hara enjoyed a steady 71 has her well placed ahead of Sunday. Of her day the rookie said: “It was a very tough day, but I was able to get some birdies early on and I really enjoyed playing.I had an image of it being extremely difficult back in 2024, so I was nervous about coming back. But I’m very happy that I made the cut and am competing in a good position.
Scotland’s Hannah Darling ended day three on 80(+8) while World No.1 Nelly Korda had three birdies and four bogeys to finish on 73(+1).
