ORDER OF PLAY CONFIRMED AS WOAD JOINS KORDA AND HULL
The ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open Round One and Two Tee times have been confirmed as 2025 Champion Lottie Woad tees off with World Number 1 Nelly Korda and World Number 7 Charley Hull.
Once again heading out on course with Korda and Hull, the World No.5 Woad is hopeful that the repeat grouping can foreshadow a repeat of last year’s result.
“It’s nice to come back to where it all started, my pro debut here. I’ve been happy with how I’ve been playing.
“Definitely learned some things as well in the year, so want to treat this year more as my rookie year than the last few events I had last year.”
Other trios include the recently returned to tour Georgia Hall with Team Europe Solheim Cup vice-captain Anne van Dam and World No. 61 Alison Lee.
Scottish star Gemma Dryburgh will tee off later in the afternoon with Australian golfer Hannah Green and South Africa’s Ashleigh Buhai.
Ahead of the tournament, World No. 9 Green spoke of her excitement at returning to Dundonald Links for the first time since 2022, referencing her mother’s Scottish heritage as a significant factor in wanting to succeed out on the links:
“I don’t think a lot of people know by my mom is from Scotland, she’s from a place about 45 minutes or an hour north of Aberdeen”, Green said.
“I don’t know if any family will come down but I do have Scottish heritage. It is an important tournament to me this week. I’ve been fortunate to win my home open in Australia this year and come off a really successful year. To be able to win The Scottish Open would be big.”
2025 winner Lauren Coughlin will head out on to course with Korea’s Somi Lee and Japan’s Minami Katsu as she seeks to regain the trophy while Solheim Cup Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist will be joined by England’s Mimi Rhodes and amateur world number on Kiara Romero.
Nordqvist comes to Scotland hot off a top ten finish at the Amundi Evian Championship, and while she will seek to build on her fabulous run in France, she will undoubtedly keep one eye open for who will make her captain’s picks as the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open marks the penultimate event before Team Europe announce their Solheim Cup squad.
